Autumn Adventures
Autumn is a spectacular time of year when the trees turn from green to gold and the leaves crunch under your feet. St Andrews also has some spectacular things to see and do and here are some of our recommendations:
Enjoy a foodie fix with Afternoon Tea
Sit back and sip on a freshly brewed tea, be tempted by some sandwiches or sample the delights of perfect patisseries. Afternoon Tea is considered to be a real treat and here are just a few of the options available on our doorstep.
The Fairmont Hotel offers an award-winning Savoy Afternoon Tea created by their Executive Pastry Chef. From only £25 per person you can indulge in the signature Savoy menu. Find out more here.
Enjoy a traditional Afternoon Tea at Rufflets where you can take in the garden views whilst also tucking into a selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes and lashings of tea. Prices start from £23.50 per person. Find out more here.
Mitchells Deli is a quirky little haunt in the centre of town that specialises in fresh, Scottish produce. Their Afternoon Tea offering starts from only £16.95 per person. Find out more here.
Perfect your swing before the golf season finishes
St Andrews is fondly known as the ‘Home of Golf’ as many of the finest courses are based here. With 10 courses in St Andrews alone, there is plenty to keep you occupied with a week-long golfing break here at St Andrews Holiday Accommodation.
We would recommend a round on the 5* Old Course. Considered to be the oldest golf course in the world, the Old Course can be viewed from the windows of our self-catering accommodation whilst also overlooking the West Sands Beach and Fife coastline.
Although the Old Course could be seen to steal the spotlight, there are many other notable courses including the New Course, Jubilee Course, Eden Course, Strathtyrum Course, Balgove Course and the Castle Course, which make up the remainder of the St Andrews Links Course.
Kingsbarns Golf Links is also a very tempting course to experience. It lies only 7 miles from St Andrews and is one of three co-hosts for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Capture the charm of St Andrews town on film
Whether you are an amateur photographer or an expert, St Andrews has a host of scenes to capture on camera. From the West Port gates to St Andrews Cathedral, the ruins of St Andrews Castle and the charm of the historic streets.
